Modern bio fireplaces

Modern bio fireplaces are gradually replacing classic wood-fired fireplaces. They are universal and very easy to use. They also do not require cleaning and do not get dirty. So you can forget about soot, ash and fragments of burnt wood scattered all over the place. Our offer includes modern bio fireplaces only from reputable companies with many years of experience - KAMI and INFIRE.

Under the catalog of available products, you will find some useful tips and tricks on how it works and how to choose a modern biofireplace.

What are modern bio fireplaces made of?

Ecological fireplaces are usually made of powder coated metal. If you want an extraordinary structure that will attract the attention of guests, you can opt for a bit more extravagant solutions.

A modern biofireplace can be made of concrete, MDF, glass or ceramics. Such a wide range of available materials means that you can adjust the fireplace to any interior style. From austere Scandinavian-style spaces, through a universal classic style, to sumptuous glamor and boho.

However, the material is not everything. The shape of the device is equally important. Modern bio fireplaces come in many forms and sizes. In stores specializing in the sale of ecological fireplaces, you will find models in the shape of cuboids, spheres, cones and arches, both in small and large sizes.

An interesting solution is also a device in the shape of a candle, which you can hang before entering the house. the perfect way to get inspired in a rustic or greek style. The burning fireplace will symbolize a lantern that summons the lost wanderers.

If you want your interiors to stand out from hundreds of others, you can buy modern bio-fireplaces from craftsmen, according to an individual project. Sculptors, stonemasons and metalworkers specialize in this art and will design a unique design for you.

A modern hanging or standing biofireplace?

Modern bio ethanol fireplaces come in several variants when it comes to the method of installation. Usually you will find standing, hanging or wall-mounted fireplaces.

Standing models

In the case of standing models, the furnace is based on a weighted base, which ensures stabilization and prevents the fireplace from tipping over. Small models weigh a few pounds, but large ones can be much heavier. If you want to buy a modern standing biofireplace, check whether it is equipped with a collar that protects the flame from the wind. This is a particularly useful solution when you plan to set up a heat source on a terrace, gazebo or garden.

An important feature of a modern bio-fireplace is also protection against spillage. Most often it takes the form of a cartridge that absorbs the liquid poured from the tank so that it does not reach further. The biofuel then seeps through the protective layer and flows back into the firebox.

Hanging models

Modern bio fireplaces in a hanging version can take two forms. Fireplaces imitating natural fireplaces, which are mounted directly on the wall, are more basic. It is a simple procedure that consists in drilling holes and installing screws in expansion plugs in them. The fireplace should be hung on such holders.

In this case, pay attention to whether there is an insulating layer between the fireplace and the wall. It must be made of a non-flammable material that can withstand high temperatures. The security has a dual function. First, walls do not withstand constant heat exposure and may develop cracks over time. Mortar may also chip off. The protective layer shields the heat, shielding the wall.

The second issue is temperature screening. If a modern fireplace is located close to a wall, some of the heat generated is unproductively absorbed by bricks or concrete, instead of heating the room.

The second type of hanging bio-fireplace uses special assembly systems based on metal scaffolding or a rope system. The elements are mounted to the ceiling with special anchors that maintain the stability of the entire structure.

This is a very effective method of exposure, but its correct application requires a bit of practice.

Modern biofireplaces mounted in the wall

The third type of bio-fireplace, when it comes to installation, are models installed in a specially prepared recess. This solution requires the use of a special scaffolding that supports the entire structure and most closely resembles a classic wood-fired fireplace. The preparation of the recess should always follow the manufacturer's instructions.

The inside of the wall surrounding the hearth itself should be made of a refractory material. For example, fireclay bricks are perfect for this role.

What fuel is used in a modern bio-fireplace?

Contrary to classic fireplaces, modern biofireplaces are fired with biofuel (exactly bioethanol). It is a type of ethyl alcohol that is produced from biomass. This, in turn, is most often produced from the biodegradable part of agricultural production.

In Poland, the overwhelming majority of bioethanol is made from potatoes and sugar beet, but in the world production is based on many different crops: wheat, grain, sugar juice. One of the leading Spanish biofuel producers produces bioethanol from municipal waste.

Bioethanol is completely odorless and burns 100% to water and a minimum amount of H2O. This is why bio-fireplaces are so safe. All you need to do is provide efficient ventilation of the room. You do not have to worry about the installation and inspection of chimney pipes or any permits.

How to choose a good fuel for a biofireplace? First of all, look for products with PZH approval. This is a guarantee that the National Institute of Public Health has tested the fuel for the presence of harmful substances.

Attention! Never use substitute fuels such as petroleum or spirit in a biofireplace. They can cause an explosion, and they will certainly not burn effectively (1 liter of good quality biofuel may be enough for up to 6 hours of burner operation).

How do you know if the biofuel is well cleaned? First of all, no sludge should be formed during the combustion process. If you see a soot mark on the casing, smoke in the air, or smell a sharp acetone smell, you have purchased poor quality fuel.

Are modern bio fireplaces safe?

The great advantage of ecological fireplaces is their safety. In addition to protection against spillage, the vast majority of bio-fireplaces are equipped with a blockade that allows you to instantly cut off the supply of oxygen to the fuel. This way you can extinguish the source of the flame in an instant.

Among the available models, you will find both those with an open hearth and biofireplaces with a protective glass. The latter type of device is a great choice if there are small children running around the house who, curious about the dancing flames, may touch the fire carelessly.

Glass in biofireplaces is made of tempered glass, which protects you and your household members against burns.

Do you want to go beyond the scheme and are looking for a bio-fireplace that will emphasize the individuality of your interior? You don't know which model is best for you? Call or write! Our specialists will help dispel your doubts.
